Hello!
Welcome to another broadcast of Elder Hamson Adventures Show! This
week on the program we get to hear some words from The Elder himself!
These tales are from his personal experience in the mission field
serving his fellow men. Without further introduction: Elder Hamson!
Why thank you, it is good to be here to talk to you today. To start
off on the service side of this week, we help out the senior center in
our area. I vacuumed and moved in boxes of tuna and boxes of macaroni.
It was a good service but, what we did after that was an adventure!
We had a member who wanted help on her ranch and so we agree and we
followed her. She took us out to the middle of nowhere through this
rocky sketchy trail to her ranch house thing. It was exciting! It was
just like four wheeling on trails in southern Utah. That is how rough
that road was. Because of my tactical four wheeling skills we scaled
mountains and boulders and survived. So, that was interesting! The
rest of the serving we did was a bunch of weeding but, it has been
rainy off and on so the weeds were super easy.
So, a side story for y'all. Our Tiwi box has been broken for a month
now. That is a system connected to our car that tracts and improves
our driving behavior. So, it will warn us when we are speeding and
when we are driving too aggressively. It's not too bad, I feel like it
has helped me to avoid speeding tickets. But, anyway we had to drive
to a town called Heber about 30 mins out. And I got to see pine trees
for the first time in two and a half months! I miss trees, there ain't
much green out here. Haha anyway, we meet up with this guy he installs
the Tiwi and he did his thing and left before we could talk to him
much. So, we switch drivers because I had my fun driving down but, now
we are for real. We have a Tiwi that is watching us now. Elder
Robinson gets in starts the car and we drive off. Before we even leave
the parking lot it barks "No driver!" So, Elder Robinson lets a big
sigh out and said something like "Good to see you too Tiwi, I missed
ya," and we don't get 5 minutes down the road and it barks "Check your
speed!" I laughed so hard, I thought it was the funniest thing. I
don't think Elder Robinson was amused but, it was pretty funny because
he is usually top of the line driver. Anyway, long, useless, story.
YOU'RE WELCOME!
We found three new investigators this week! Joe, sage, and tony! I am
so excited! We did SO many finding activities and prayed super hard
and we now found some. It's amazing that you can find something out of
nothing if you show your faith that it could happen. People always say
"It must be difficult for you guys to find people to teach with such a
high percentage of Mormons around here." I always smile and think to
myself "I find your lack of faith disturbing," or "O, ye of little
faith," and reply with something like: "what you give is what you
get." It was just something I always said. But, it is so true! No
matter what mission you are in, it is the same work, and the same
struggle. No matter what the challenges may be for that mission, that
mission, and that companion are tailor made for your experience. They
are prepared to help you learn and grow the most. That is what I have
realized this week. That progression and self improvement is the mana
of life and happiness! God blesses us for making an honest effort to
improve.
I love you all and stay strong my friends!

Yellowhair
Greetings my family!
This week was a bit of a blur.
The End
Elder Hamson
Just kidding my family!
This last week was a great week! We had our Zone Training Meeting and
I didn't have to give a training so, that was good. A bunch of new
missionary work news came about how member present lessons will bring
more success to our work. There was an in depth training about the
significance of The Atonement. That was really good! And we talked
about dedicating an hour each day to finding people in the evenings.
And we are trying to get a member to every single lesson. Which is
pretty big because before the goal was 60% of the lessons. But, anyway
they challenged us to go a month with out card games. Apparently some
people would rush through planning each night to get to there card
game. So, hopefully we will start doing a ton better this week.
We have a less active Native American man that is a painter. And
apparently he is pretty popular for this area. And he has some really
cool symbolic paintings and guess what!? That's right I got me one of
the famous Yellowhair paintings! I got a frame for it and everything!
I love it, it's of he snowflake temple and tells the story of the Book
of Mormon and how it applies to him as a Lamanite. So, I got me some
fine art. Thought you would want to know.
We were cooling off the house last P-day and a dog just ran in on us.
That's all that happened, we put him back outside but, just a random
funny story.
I have a silly story I forgot to share last month. We were going to a
dinner with some members. They were too lazy to cool so they invited
us to a Mexican restaurant. So, being naive missionaries, we got to
the restaurant, walk in, and it was a bar. It was a classic saloon
scene. We walk in, the room goes quiet and everyone turns to stare. We
were confused and uncomfortable then, the bar tender just points to
the door on the left of the room. And of course we walked through the
door and there was the restaurant. I just thought it was funny that we
walked into the bar and it was seriously the classic western scene
where someone walks in the bar and everyone turns and a tumble weed
rolls past. Haha, golden. Also last night as we were driving home. The
sisters called us and we ran over and gave their less active member a
blessing. It is nice to give a priesthood every once and a while.
Our investigator Irvin is doing quite well and still on track for
baptism. And we met a guy named Donley and he accepted the invitation
for baptism and he is a new investigator. So, a bunch a fun going on
in the missionary world. Hope your world is going well.
Love you friends!

Mothers
Happy Mothers Day, Yesterday!
I got to see and talk with my family. They are doing well I guess.
Haha just kidding, they are doing great! I love them and it was super
nice to see them. I hope my mom and all you other mothers have had a
great and loving Mother's Day.
This week was an interesting week. We have been trying hard to get
some members to come to our lessons but, most of our investigators
didn't answer and missed the lessons we planned. We did however have
some good lessons with a couple potential investigators. Sister
Alvarez did not want to talk to us the first time we met. She has
softened her heart since and agreed to read a bit of the Book of
Mormon. We also met a potential investigator that is one of our less
active's son in law. He said he would read and he was kind of
interested in family history work. Other than that, not too much
happened this week. We did a lot of service. Shoveling poop, painting
walls, and moving furniture. It was great and I'm having fun.
Hope you guys are having fun!
Love you!

Dessert Calendar
Ey'o!
It's the beginning of a new month and a new transfer. Still stuck with
my same companion. Haha, just kidding! I love Elder Robinson, we get
along super well! I'm going to miss him. He has been in he mountains
his whole mission and it is likely he will head to the hot valley next
transfer. Haha I don't know why I am laughing, I could be transferred
there too. But, anyway this past month was awesome! The funniest thing
that happened is that my apartment houses four missionaries and the
other Elders are sick of being chubby. So, they are trying to go super
healthy and eat strictly fruits, veggies and meat. Haha and they made
this no-dessert calendar and they handed me one. So, I would come home
all proud that I had so much dessert and get to put a nice black "X"
for eating dessert. They all hated me for it but, I thought it was
pretty funny. I give you a picture. But, on a more serious note. This
week was flip flopped. Usually we have some pretty successful lessons
with new investigators and the less active members want nothing to do
with us. This week we had maybe four lessons with investigators. The
rest were less actives, it was awesome! I love teaching less actives.
I don't know why, they are just more relatable I guess. They
understand what the spirit feels like and have had experience with it.
So, it's so fun watch them feel that again. Anyway people have been
super nice to us this week, I love it. Oh, also this week we have been
teaching Irvin and he came to church! He hasn't ever been and that was
way cool to walk someone through church for the first time. He isn't
one to show too much emotion so, I couldn't tell how interested he was
but, he said he enjoyed it. Yay! Well, I'll leave you with the quote
I've been leaning on lately.
"The real tragedy is the tragedy of the man who never in his life
braces himself for his one supreme effort, who never stretches to his
full capacity, never stands up to his full stature. The successful man
thinks he can."

Bonk!
:) ... Hi!
Awwwww... Hello my friends! I had a pretty fun week this week! We had
a baptism and had plenty of lessons. It was great! It went by so fast
I don't even know what happened. All I remember was the baptism.
Login got baptized, (Yes it's spelt login, not Logan) it was a super
packed service it was crazy! We filled a gym just for his kids baptism
it was epic! Also, we had the talk on Baptism. It went well, I really
liked the musical number. It was his lady friend singing I know my
redeemer lives. It was super good! I love musical numbers and the
emotion and spirit it brings as it sets the setting. Funny story! When
he got baptized it was going well. I was a witness and he said all the
words and here we go into the water. Then, BONK! He hit his head on
the back of the font but, it gets better. His friend, who was
baptizing, just kept shoving him into the water as his head skid down
the font wall. After all that we had to do it again because the water
was shallow enough his knees didn't go under water. He brought him up
out of the water and had there laugh and the second time went fine.
Over all it was super nice and there were so many friends and family
there to support him. Other than that we had a good lesson with the
Preston boys and they are progressing toward baptism. Hopefully they
will understand the plan of salvation. They are native boys but, they
have been super awesome so far. I am excited for them. Our possible
next baptism! Everyone else we are teaching are more potential
investigators. Ooooo! We talked to some members and now we have the
hook ups to go golfing! So hopefully this crazy 70 mph wind stops so I
can get my golf on. :) Welp. You all take care! I love you, be safe,
and remember Christ. Sorry if this is scattered Imma go play
basketball now. :* (that was a kiss face)
